Regina and Area Roofing Services
Do you have a roofing problem?
After years of exposure to the elements, roofs start to wear which can result in thousands of dollars in damage. The biggest problem is most people aren't even aware of the common symptoms of a failing roof until it's already too late.
Some of the early warnings to look out for include:
- Cracked shingles
- Curling shingles
- Buckling shingles
- Bare spots in your shingles
- Shingle colour loss/granule loss (balding from age)
- Pieces of shingle found around the perimeter of your home or in your eavestrough
- Ruptured valleys
- Worn metal counter flashing

These symptoms can be caused by the age of the roof and its exposure to wind, rain, snow, and even the sun. They can also be caused by animal damage, manufacturer defects, or even improper installation. It's important to recognize these warning signs as soon as possible because you can't fix a problem until you know the problem exists.
Why fix it now?
While some of these symptoms may not be serious or costly to fix today, by not being proactive you run the risk of paying for it later. Even a small leak can cause severe damage. When moisture gets into the insulation it can develop mould and mildew that spreads to the drywall and the wood structure of your home. A leaking roof will open and spread causing damage to your walls, ceilings, and floors. It can short out your electrical outlets also witch can cause a fire. Some people find that the significant damage is done to their pictures, furniture, and the rest of their contents. All this aggravation, stress, and damage can be avoided with the right roofing solution.

Soffit, Fascia, Seamless Eaves, Siding
Aluminum is now the most common material used for soffit, fascia and eavestroughs. Homeowners can now enjoy the benefit of a low maintenance product that not only enhances the appearance of your home, but will eliminate the time consuming job of painting and scraping wood. As well as eliminates the problems that were associated with Galvanized eavestroughs such as rust and corrosion.
The soffit section of your home is the underside of the overhang. This is a very important component of your home because it is the mouth or "fresh air intake" of the attic space.
The attic space of your home requires fresh air in order to preserve plywood from "dry rot" and to help eliminate potential ice damning in the winter months. Building Code requirements have changed, your house may not be up to current standards so additional ventilation may have to be cut.
Fascia is the aluminum cladding that covers the wood fascia. Wood fascia is the component of your home to which the eavestrough is fastened.
Eavestrough or "gutter" is the drainage system of your home. It channels the water to drainpipes which divert the water away from your home. Without eavestroughs foundation walls would be saturated and basements would leak. It is important to properly anchor aluminum eavestrough to the wood fascia board, snow and ice put a lot of stress and weight on the eavestrough.
Quality siding of vinyl today offers many perks to the homeowner. It saves money, time, can add to energy savings, is durable and colorfast and also a friend of the environment. Installing vinyl house siding, which comes in many colors and patterns and can mimic wood, can be a smart decision.
